OFLON

OFLON Dry Lubricant Coating (Dry Lubricating Film) offers a “dry lubrication” solution for issues that conventional approaches, such as grease-based lubrication, struggle to address, including contamination, splashing, oil bleeding, and poor workability during assembly processes. Its key features include forming functional coating films on friction/sliding parts, providing properties such as low friction coefficient, non-stick performance, wear resistance, and chemical resistance. It is assumed to be suitable for applications such as motor components, switches, camera parts, rollers, and more. Typical application scenarios (based on on-site challenges) include reducing abnormal noise (squeaking), lowering sliding resistance, and minimizing galling. It also improves assembly workability and reduces the burden of lubricant management (application, cleaning, contamination control). OFLEX

Elastomer materials (rubber, elastomers, etc.) are a challenging field where both aesthetics and durability must be achieved simultaneously. OFLEX realizes both appearance and functionality through a coating film design that follows the movement of the material, thereby reducing the risk of cracking and peeling. Key features include a two-component curing flexible urethane coating (for elastomer materials), emphasizing adhesion, elongation, chemical resistance, and weather durability. It is described for applications in precision devices (watch components, wearable parts, battery cases), with a reported elongation performance of 150%. Typical application scenarios include exterior parts that require flexibility and the ability to follow deformation, such as plastic watch straps. Ohashi Chemical Industries has developed “OFLON (WB)” as a water-based solution, clearly incorporating a PFAS-free coating design, built upon tribology technologies accumulated from its solvent-based product lines. This expands the range of alternative options for manufacturing facilities that prioritize reducing environmental impact.
