  1. Product NameBasic Information
    • Product Name: CT-CLM Thinner
    • Product Classification: Solvent for cleaning metal surfaces before painting
    • Main applications: degreasing, de-greasing before painting for steel structures, beams, columns, frames, machine parts

  1. Product Concept
    • Design Goals:
      • Prioritizing degreasing ability
      • Minimizing negative impacts on the working environment
    • Main Ingredients (Concept):
      • Aliphatic hydrocarbon base
      • Add a small amount of aromatic hydrocarbons to heavy grease
      • Combine alcohol solvents to improve dryness and surface finish after wiping.
    • Overall Intention:
      • “Good removal – Easy to use – Stable surface before painting.”

  1. Scope of applicationTarget parts/Stains
    • Base material (reference)
      • General carbon steel, structural steel, steel machine parts.
    • Targeted dirt
      • Mineral oil, machine oil, lubricating grease, anti-rust oil, temporary storage oil
    • Typical usage steps
      • Wipe off oil with a solvent-soaked cloth
      • Special cases: quick dip + wipe again with a cloth

For aluminum, cast zinc, plastic, rubber: test on a small sample first

  1. Main features
    1. Removes many types of grease
      • Aliphatic base for stable solubility
      • Add a little aromatic to treat strongly adherent grease
    2. Reduces pungent odor, can be used for continuous hand wiping
      • Aromatic ratio is controlled at the required level
      • Suitable when there is adequate ventilation in the working
    3. Dries relatively quickly, leaving few traces
      • Alcohol component helps solvent evaporate faster
      • Reduces stickiness, reduces the amount of solvent remaining on the surface
    4. Does not deteriorate the quality of the next paint layer
      • Limits volatile residues
      • The surface after cleaning is suitable for adhesion adhesion and appearance of the coating

  1. Recommended conditions of use (wipe by hand with a rag)

Basic procedure:

    1. Remove welding slag, spatter, dust, and coarse rust
    2. Soak CT-CLM Thinner in a clean rag
    3. Wet the area to be painted evenly
    4. Heavy stains: replace with a new rag, repeat wiping 2-3 times
    5. Let the part dry naturally for a few minutes to more than 10 minutes, when the surface is dry and the solvent smell is clearly reduced, then proceed to the painting stage

Environmental conditions:

    • Temperature: about 10-35℃
    • Ventilation: enough air flow for working area with flammable solvents

  1. Adjust according to factory conditions
    • Low temperature, slow drying
      • Increase waiting time, combine with fan / gentle drying (no direct heat source)
    • Simple dip application
      • Pre-check: tank capacity, dip time, ventilation, drying area
      • After the trial period, fix suitable operating conditions for each factory
    • Customize according to each project
      • Need stronger bleach → consider increasing the proportion of “strong” ingredients within the design range
      • Need faster drying → consider increasing the proportion of volatile solvents
      • Details will be designed by CTV and stated in the technical document / separate proposal

  1. Representative parameters (expected)
    • Appearance: clear liquid, colorless to slightly yellow
    • Specific gravity (20℃): about 0.75–0.80
    • Flash point: about 30–40℃
    • Specifications: 18L can, 200L drum (according to MOQ)
    • Storage: avoid direct sunlight, avoid high temperature / heat source, close the lid, store in a covered warehouse

Detailed specifications: refer to the latest Product Standard Table and SDS.

  1. SafetyNotes when using
    • Flammable liquid → absolutely no fire, no smoking, avoid sparks.
    • Work in a well-ventilated area, wear a solvent vapor mask, goggles, solvent-resistant gloves.
    • Skin contact: wash immediately with soap and plenty of water.
    • Eye contact: wash with clean water, if pain persists, seek medical attention.
    • Spill: use non-flammable absorbent material, collect; do not flush down the drain.
    • Waste (residual solvent, dirty rags, sludge): dispose of according to regulations on hazardous industrial waste.
    • More detailed information: see the latest SDS of CT-CLM Thinner.
