1. Product Overview

Electrical insulating paint is used on electrical wires and devices to prevent the leakage of electrical current. It has a wide range of general applications, primarily used in electrical equipment such as wires, coils, and transformers to prevent current outflow. It is also employed in large-scale electrical facilities like substations and power plants to ensure electrical safety. Additionally, it is applied in automotive and aircraft electronic components, household electrical products, communication devices, and printed circuit boards to maintain insulation under high temperature and humidity conditions, preventing electronic interference and circuit shorting.

2. Technical Details

There are two types of electrical insulating paints: impregnating and finishing, available in both air-drying and heat-drying forms. These paints possess a variety of electrical properties, including high volume resistance, strong insulation against temperature and humidity, resistance to insulation breakdown voltage, and optimized dielectric properties. They also feature improved arc resistance, corona resistance, and tracking resistance. The composition of electrical insulating paint varies according to the type of surface to be coated and the performance required. For instance, volatile varnishes made from shellac, rosin, and alcohol-soluble phenolic resins are used, and for applications requiring heat resistance, high-durability synthetic resins like epoxy, polyurethane, polyester, and silicone resins are utilized.

3. Advantages and Applications

Electrical insulating paint enhances the safety and reliability of electrical equipment and wiring. It is used in power plants and substations to strengthen insulation, supporting safe power supply. It’s also applied in electronic components of automobiles and aircraft, contributing to performance maintenance in extreme temperature and humidity conditions.

4. Usage and Maintenance

Effective use and maintenance of electrical insulating paint are crucial. It is recommended to clean the surface before application and apply primer as needed. Choose a drying method suitable for the type of paint and apply it evenly at the appropriate thickness. Regular inspection of the coating and reapplication as necessary are essential for maintenance.
